Our Startup
The history of Venus Lanka Hospital stretches back to 1995. We had a humble start as a small dispensary under the name of "Kaduruwela Medical center" with 3 employees, including a doctor, a nurse and an assistant. The Kaduruwela Medical Center reached the people in each and every corner of the area within a short time period. It was well known as "Ajward Hospital". Dr. M. Ajward; the managing director of Venus Lanka Hospital was the first doctor at Kaduruwela Medical Center.
Our Milestones
In 2004, Ajward Hospital has reached to an important milestone. The hospital was re-branded as a corporate entity; Venus Nursing Home (pvt) Ltd. In the same year we could do a remarkable change in healthcare industry of the area by establishing a fully auotomated medical laboratory with modern art of technology in the hospital. In 2011, Venus became a medium size ogranization with 100+ employees. At that moment, our hospital was consist with a modern operation theater, labor room and a ward complex. At the same year, our medical laboratory was registered as a seperate entity; Venus Diagnostic Services (pvt) Ltd. In 2015, Venus Nursing Home becam Venus Lanka Hospital (pvt) Ltd. From then, Venus Lanka Hospital (pvt) Ltd. and Venus Diagnostic Services (pvt) Ltd. is serving its' service for thousend of people in North Central and Estern provinces in Sri Lanka.

We have been consistent in our mission to provide quality healthcare at affordable cost at the door steps of people we serve, ever since we started the journey of “caring for you for life” 2 decades back. We work towards with the universal healthcare philosophy of Quality, Affordability and Accessibility. Our teams drive the quality program as the corner stone with a strong belief that there is no finishing line in the race for excellence. Healthcare worldwide is becoming more and more expensive, but we try to make our services Affordable We strongly believe that profit should be a byproduct and not the aim in healthcare, which helps us to transcend into our core values, of Compassion, Integrity and Respect. We also provide support to those who are in need through CSR activities. Accessibility to healthcare services is a very important focus area for us –so we provide services closer to our customers, by bringing in the state of art Technology anddelivering of healthcare to our homes of people. Many ask me the recipe for our success – from a single doctor clinic in polonnaruwa to fully established government approved hospital with over 140 staff. I strongly believe that it has been due to the blessings of the God and other well-wishers of this area and people of north central and eastern region we operate and the hard work of the united and passionate team of VENUS.
Our Hospital
Our Hospital is one of the most rewarded private hospital in North Central Province. We provide 24 hour service to the patients including emergency treatment unit (ETU), outpatient department (OPD), pharmacy, ambulance service, in-ward patient facilities, medical imaging services and so on.

We are a medium scale size medical laboratory handling hundreds of samples a day. Our team is committed to excellence in the fields of Biochemistry, Microbiology, Haematology and Histo Pathology and we work in close collaboration with our clinicians to deliver comprehensive and accurate diagnostic results.
